Treatments for Pimples (Acne/Zits):

Definition & Cause: Acne is scientifically known as Acne Vulgaris, and is classified into grades 1, 2, 3 & 4, depending on the severity and spread of Acne. Pimples are caused by a combination of hormonal imbalances, over-secretion of oil (sebum) from the sebaceous glands of the skin, bacterial infection of the sebaceous glands, dehydration of skin, stress, etc. When these pimples burst, they usually leave unsightly marks and scars. The most common places for acne are face, back, shoulders and upper arms.
Treatments: We not only aim at treating the existing pimples, but also focus on treating the cause of the occurrence of pimples.
We use a combination of peels like salicylic, glycolic, and mandelac along with other treatments like iontophoresis for deeper penetration of active medication for treating pimples. The combination that our doctors prescribe depends on skin type and current condition of skin.
Chemical peels help by peeling the superficial dead cell layer of the skin, neutralising the oil in the sebaceous glands, and increasing the blood circulation. Iontophoresis treatment helps by increasing the penetration of medication deeper into the skin, hence ridding the skin of bacteria and other infections.
As post treatment care, our doctors will give you diet and lifestyle advise along with prescription of home use treatments to prevent the recurrence of Acne.

Treatment for acne scars (pitted scars):

Definition & Cause: Acnes (pimples) are disfiguring, but the marks and scars that they leave behind disfigure you for a lifetime. When a pimple occurs, it causes inflammation, which disturbs the collagen layer that is present in the upper part of the dermis of the skin.
Treatments: We have various effective treatments for marks and scars left over by pimples. Our treatments aim at stimulating the collagen layer to regenerate and fill up the depressions cause by the pimples. We use treatments such as Microdermabrasion, Dermaroller, Subcision, scar excision, etc. Our doctors will analyse your skin and prescribe the suitable treatment depending on the depth and spread of the scars.
These treatments will not only make the skin appear younger and supple because of the collagen regeneration, but also increase the skin’s ability to absorb active medication prescribed to you for a glowing, flawless skin.

Treatment for Brown Discolouration / Pigmentation / Tanning:

Definition & Cause: The colour of our skin depends on the melanin content of the melanocyte cells, which are present between the epidermis (upper layer of skin) and the dermis (lower layer of the skin). Due to several factors like hormonal imbalance, sun exposure, and injuries, there might be an excessive production of melanin from the melanocytes either in certain areas of the skin or in the overall skin. Depending on the spread of this increased melanin formation, many of us get patches of darker skin colour on the face or other areas of the body.
Treatments: Epidermal pigmentation, being more superficial is easier to treat than dermal pigmentation, which is deeper. We not only aim to reduce the existing pigmentation, but also help you understand your skin better, so that you become aware of the care required to prevent the recurrence of such pigmentation.
Our treatments aim at reducing the melanin in the skin by exfoliation of the epidermal layers of the skin to result in better absorption of skin lightening agents and formation of new, normally pigmented cells in the basal cell layer.
We use exfoliation methods like Microdermabrasion, Dermaroller and Chemical peels along with lightening agents like topical vitamin C, Kojic acid, Arbutin, hydroquinone etc
We have a wide range of peels like Glycolic, salicylic, mandelac, citric, retinol, phenol, TCA, lactic, pyruvic etc.
This results not just in reduction of darker areas on the skin, but also gives your skin a smoother texture (due to the exfoliation), an even tone (due to the increased blood circulation) and a healthy glow (due to the fresher skin cells appearing on the surface).

Treatment for Warts / Skin Tags:

Definition & Cause: Warts are a viral infection (human pappiloma virus), and are highly contagious. They can occur on any body part, and spread via touch. The common areas are finger tips, toes, and genitals. They appear as tiny cauliflower like growths with a rough surface. They may increase in size or number, gradually or suddenly.
Skin tags (acrochordons) look similar to warts to an untrained eye. They are similar in shape, but skin tags do not have a rough surface. Skin tags are an extension of the normal skin, which occurs due to friction of skin against skin or hormonal changes. There is no viral infection involved in the causation of these skin tags. They commonly occur on face, neck and under-arms.
Treatments: Warts and skin tags can be removed with the help of radiofrequency waves. This is done in such a way that there is no damage to the normal skin. It usually takes only a single session to get rid of any number of warts or skin tags, present in the skin in any location. The application of topical or local numbing agents makes the whole procedure painless. In case of warts, chemical cauterisation with podophylline is also one of the treatment modalities used by us.

Treatment for Keloids:

Definition & Cause: Keloids occur as a result of overproduction of collagen, when the skin is healing from any injury or infection. They appear as brownish/reddish or skin coloured growths, firm to hard in consistency, and sometime cause itching or foul smell. They can occur at the site of any injury, burns, any surgical incision or even due to acne.
Treatments: Surgical removal of keloids carries a high chance of recurrence. The modalities of keloid treatment at SkinWorld include Intra Lesional Steroid injections and Cryotherapy with liquid nitrogen.

Procedures

Microdermabrasion:
This treatment is primarily given in cases of mild to moderate acne, scars, rough skin, and even for skin rejuvenation. This technique helps in removing the dead skin cells, thereby bringing instant glow to your skin. There are two types of microdermabrasion techniques that we offer:

Crystal microdermabrasion: Crystal microdermabrasion is the traditional treatment of choice and rely on tiny crystals that are blasted onto the skin to perform the exfoliating process.
Diamond microdermabrasion: The exfoliation process occurs when a diamond tipped head makes contact with the skin and abrades against it.

Dermaroller:
This treatment is carried out using a french invention, for moderate to severe acne scars, chicken pox scars etc. It shows visible results in a single session and amazing results in 3-4 sessions.

Iontophoresis:
Our skin has an external tough layer, known as the corneal cell layer (horny layer). When we apply any active ingredients on the skin, this layer allows only a miniscule amount of the active ingredients to actually reach the deeper layers of the skin. By using a galvanic current in iontophoresis, we introduce certain active ingredients into the deeper layers of the skin leading to immediate as well as long term benefit to your skin condition.

This can be used on the face or body. Direct or indirect high frequency energy has an oxygen releasing agent which leaves the skin invigorated, nourished and re-hydrated. It also softens fine lines leaving the skin plump and refreshed.
